What our students say
HTC has shaped the lives of many people. Be encouraged by their memories and comments.

"HTC is a good place to study. The college is small but friendly, with great resources. The main attraction for studying at HTC in particular, for me, was that it is in the Highlands and that I did not have to leave the area to study theology. I can say that my studies at HTC have been profitable both intellectually and in terms of personal faith."
"It was never my intention to become a chronic alcoholic. …… For me HTC is not just a college and a seat of learning, it is a community of faith and a family. Although I am sober now, life is not easy. But as well as prayer, I have always felt able to share my cares and concerns with other students and especially staff. I can honestly say that, on earth, HTC has played an integral part in my recovery and for that I will be eternally grateful."
"Whilst HTC teaches theology from a Reformed perspective it has encouraged me to consider other views and come to my own conclusions this has been invaluable in the development of my own faith."
"I have been spiritually enriched by the studies and the great support and fellowship of the staff and students at HTC."
"The period I have spent at HTC has been just brilliant. There is a serious intellectual rigour to the studies but this is always liberally sprinkled with faith. The opportunity to work with other students from different churches and backgrounds has also been very rewarding. I would have to say that it is now possible to study theology ‘without losing your faith’ thanks to the quality of staff and teaching at HTC. It is also not just about theology because there are many other subjects on offer and I found the Counselling modules and Church History modules extremely valuable."
"The Access Course was for me an amazing journey of faith and, having spoken to other students, many found it to be the same. I completed the Access Course and even went on to complete the BA! The course work was excellent, clearly presented and easy to follow. I found it challenging but also very enlightening. The tutor support and support from other students was very often the thing that kept me going when I was struggling. Being prayed with and prayed for makes a world of difference. HTC has been one of the most challenging places and experiences in my life but it has also been one of the most rewarding. I can honestly say that it has been a privilege for me to study here."
"A great experience at HTC, very rewarding, life changing and future forming."
"At a recent meeting with the presbytery convenor I was asked why I had chosen HTC instead of another training provider. I have been drawn to HTC for some time but now that I am a student it was easy to answer: I enjoy being part of a community that is not just an academic community, but a worshipping community. To work constituted by collective prayer and in such a helpful and friendly environment is a real joy. It is truly a privilege to be part of HTC."
