Message from the Principal

The buildings of Highland Theological College UHI are currently closed. However, we are still fully operational with regard to all the functions of the college such as staff availability, teaching via VC, marking, supporting students, assessing next year’s applications, etc.

Present students on all programmes are expected to continue their studies via distance learning. Specific details regarding the BA (Hons) Theological Studies programme, including further information about assessments and exams, have been sent out by the Programme Leader, Dr Robert Shillaker. Students on other programmes should await instructions from their Programme Leaders if these have not yet been supplied.

Any student struggling to fulfil their study commitments due to circumstances surrounding Covid-19 should get in touch with their PAT in the first instance. See or phone 01349 78000 during normal working hours only (9am – 5pm).

Likewise, we want to reassure current and new applicants that we’re working as normal on processing applications, but things may take a little longer than usual. We’ll be working with the grading information set by SQA in line with all other universities and colleges to ensure applicants are assessed fairly.

For general enquiries please email or telephone +44(0)1349 780000 as usual and your email or call will be directed to the appropriate person. (Emails are easier for us to deal with than phone calls at the moment!) COVID19 updates are available on

As our colleagues at Moray College UHI tweeted recently: ‘Buildings may be closed, but we’re still here: living in our communities, working remotely, delivering lessons, marking assignments, supporting students, paying staff, students and suppliers, assessing next year’s applications and planning for a great future!’

Grace and peace to you in these strange, new times for us all.

Hector Morrison
