Student support

content

We are committed to all our students and we will do all we can to make your experience at HTC enjoyable and rewarding. We know studying can be tough and sometimes you are not sure where to turn. At HTC we aim to provide help and advice throughout your journey with us. From course information to student funding advice and general support, we are here for you. If you would like support with taking the step from school to college, then we can help with this too.

Cathy Steed is our HTC Student Support Officer who provides a drop-in and/or phone service that is available to all students registered with HTC. Each semester there will be Drop-In’ sessions both online and in-person when possible to meet for other students and also the Student Support Officer in an informal setting. Check out the HTC Student Facebook page for notices.

You can refer to the HTC Student Support page where you will find information and useful links on how we may assist you. However, do not hesitate to contact Cathy should you require assistance or advice about any additional support needs you may have, health issues and mental health and well being issues or anything that may be of concern to you in order that we can provide the best level of support to you during your student journey. You can also refer to the UHI Student Support site where you will find detailed advice and useful links.

We can also provide a more dedicated 1-2-1 service for problems you might be facing with family life, financial difficulty, stress and anxiety. As a community of faith and scholarship, HTC aims to provide spiritual support to students should you require this.

  • All discussions with us are strictly confidential.
  • No question or concern is too small.
  • We can offer a range of help from a 5 minute chat, e-mail query or a regular one-to-one session.
  • Don’t feel alone as you journey through your studies at HTC. Help is always at hand.

Cathy can be contacted on cathy.steed@uhi.ac.uk or tel: 01349 780401.
