The degrees of MPhil and PhD are research degrees with no course work involved. They may be taken either as full-time or part-time degrees. There is currently no residence requirement for part-time students, and full-time students must be resident in Scotland for at least 6 months of their 36-month, degree registration period. According to the Post Graduate Code of Practice adopted by UHI, overseas part-time students should be prepared to travel to the UK for face-to-face meetings with their supervisor(s) three times per year throughout the course of their studies. As we only have a limited number of places available, priority is normally given to applications for full-time MPhil/PhD studies. Prospective students whose first language is not English must have reached 7.0 in the IELTS examination or its equivalent prior to application. Day to day supervision will be undertaken by an HTC supervisor. |
